Well, lookie what I found!  The kiddos have been watching videos at school about internet safety, which led me to search up and delete all the websites and blogs I've created over the years (all 3 of them) and put information and pictures that probably shouldn't just be "out there."  But this blog is special!  It passed the test for not being too personal or giving too much info away!  Hmm... perhaps I'll even make some *real* entries someday soon!  You know... in ALL my spare time!  Ha!
[Moved from my "other" blog]

In an attempt (again) to organize and declutter my house, I have gathered papers with important notes that I don't want to get rid of, but don't have anywhere to put. So, I thought my worthless blog is as good a place as any other to store these notes. First, the directions for crocheting an 8-petal flower (I don't promise that my short-hand uses correct abbreviations, by any means).

  1. G hook, chain 6, join
  2. Ch. 1, 16 SC in loop, join
  3. Ch. 3, 3 DC in same space, Ch. 3, SL ST in same space, SL ST over 2 spaces, continue for 8 petals around
  4. Ch. 1, SC in same space, Ch. 5, Skip 2 petals, SC next SC, around 4x, SL ST in beginning SC
  5. Ch. 4, 5 TC in loop, Ch. 4, SL ST in loop, repeat 2x in each loop, SL ST to next loop, continue around for 8 petals.

New possibilities...

This is my new Toshiba tablet. It has a blogger app. And this new "Swype" typing program... Gonna take some practice, i'm sure, but i'm hopeful again that I might actually be able to keep up with a blog. Here is, then, my first post of what may, hopefully, become a regular occurrence of posting.

My Wonderful Excuse

Seems that one major problem with blogging is that you can't fake the dates like you can on paper tasks. Not that I neglected my first project that I introduced in my April 10th blog post. In fact, I completed close to 80 Thank-You cards, and delivered more than half of them within the next week. I even took pictures of the process. I just didn't get around to writing about it.

My wonderful excuse is this - At my last posting, I was 37 weeks pregnant with my second child, who arrived safely on May 1st. Up until that point, I was readying my house for the new arrival, as well as a visit from my Mum, and, well, just trying to get through the last weeks of pregnancy. Since then, I've been caring for my wonderful excuse almost non-stop, and giving whatever spare time I could find to my 4-year-old. Now, with the 4-year-0ld back at school, and the 3-week-old sleeping peacefully in a wrap strapped to my front, I can return to the tasks that I have been letting slide since, well, April 10th or so.

The best part about this wonderful excuse I have for neglecting my brand-new blog? All of the projects that she will inspire - including pretty dresses and other items of clothing, creative accessories, and of course, her scrapbook (which falls on the to-do list just below catching-up the 4-year-old's scrapbook!) And one day, I'll teach her everything I know - or, just tell her to read my blog :)

My Inspiration

It all started when an online friend sent me a message.

"I see that you scrapbook. I want to make one and don't know where to start. Can you recommend some sites?"

Okay, so I kinda paraphrased all of that. But the bottom line is that I don't really use websites to guide me much. I know there must be a ton of resources out there, but I already have my own ways of doing things. So I sent her a paragraph or so about how I go about my scrapbooking (which, for the record, is severely back-logged) and realized I had so much more that I wanted to say!

I immediately came over here and searched a few witty blog titles, which I was told were all taken. Way to take the wind out of my sails, Blogger! I almost decided not to follow through, but then here I am today with a new page title, and so much to tell about what I do and how I do it!

First up, I've had two baby showers over the past two days, so I am embarking on a project of making approximately 80 thank-you cards...
